Our Farm & Process
Growing Lavender In Scotland
Nestled in the Kinross countryside, our family farm is dedicated to cultivating lavender in one of the most challenging climates imaginable. Long summer days, mild temperatures, and a slow-growing season yield an exceptionally fragrant essential oil - though only in small quantities. Beyond lavender, we also nurture sages, mints, and other aromatic herbs, all of which add unique character to our perfumery.

Hand-Harvested for Purity
We harvest our lavender plants entirely by hand to ensure every stem is gathered - and that no stray grasses mix in. This meticulous process spans two weeks of intensive fieldwork. Each plant takes several years to mature and produce oil-ready blooms, so when harvest time finally arrives, we make every effort count.
Same-Day Distillation
Immediately after cutting, we distill the fresh herbs on-site in our copper alembic stills. This same-day approach preserves the most vibrant notes and volatile compounds. Although distilling by hand is time-consuming, the result is an exceptional, small-batch oil - the very essence of our perfumes.

From Oil to Perfume
Once distilled, our essential oils become the foundation for each fragrance. Designed by our perfumer in St. Andrews - drawing inspiration from Scottish landscapes - every scent is blended and allowed to rest for one month to ensure harmonious fusion of notes. We then bottle each perfume by hand in our workshop, creating limited quantities that reflect the rare, painstaking nature of our craft.
